I've pressed the reset button on the back of the controller. I've gone in to Bluetooth on the iPad and told it to forget the device. However, when trying to pair that controller back to the PS4 it won't recognize it. Had no issues getting PS4 controller to pair with my iPad to do runs the remote play app. Once you find that cable, put a marker on it to make it easier to find next time! Once you find a power and data cable you might notice that it's a bit thicker than then the ones that don't work given the 4 vs. Would be helpful if manufacturers had thought to mark the differences between the cables but there is no indication printed so its guess work. The paring of the controller requires a power + data cable so the first one you tried was likely only power. Power cables only have two wires inside, where as power + data cables have 4 wires. There are two types of USB cables, ones that only provide power to charge, and ones that do power and data transfer. The solution is to just keep testing different USB cables to find the right one.
